The Challenge
The primary challenge was to implement a robot palletising system that significantly reduced manual handling while maintaining the highest level of operator safety. The system needed to efficiently handle infeed and outfeed controls to the robot, ensuring a smooth and reliable process.
As the site is based in Ashburton and supported remotely, it was essential that all systems were built with robust communication protocols and full remote access capabilities for diagnostics and updates from Incon’s Hamilton office.

Project Goals
The project was driven by two main goals:
the result
The robotic palletiser system was successfully delivered on time and fully commissioned, offering a seamless blend of speed, accuracy, and safety. The solution eliminated manual lifting requirements, greatly reducing the risk of injury while increasing throughput and consistency.
Operators can now monitor the system locally through intuitive HMI displays, while Incon provides remote diagnostics and support via a secure VPN connection from Hamilton.
The integration between the infeed and outfeed controls and the robot is fully automated and optimised for performance—making the system both operator-friendly and highly efficient.
